Living Strong“If you live strong, you live long", Living Strong host Rhoda Roberts concludes each episode of our new dynamic weekly television series with this key message. With the aim of empowering and engaging every Indigenous person in the country to understand their own bodies and take sustainable steps to improve their health and wellbeing, Living Strong stands at the forefront of increasing Indigenous life expectancy and ensuring quality of life for all.

Showcasing inspirational Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and tackling major health issues head on, the Living Strong formula brings together Indigenous people, young and old from remote, rural and urban communities, to share in the goal of improving the state of Indigenous health.

More than a medical show or a lifestyle program, Living Strong uses elements of each genre in a unique hybrid format that balances medical advice with riveting television. Each episode of Living Strong brings together inspiring people and positive role models, empowering the viewer with accessible, take-home information Living Strong is a dynamic half hour program that’s thought provoking and entertaining.

No matter who is in our studio or what the health topic might be, Rhoda Roberts always seems to focus on the most important aspect of every moment.

A true Australian media identity her skills, experience and warmth shine through each episode of Living Strong.

Not a lot of people know that Rhoda actually worked as a registered nurses specialising in accident and emergency before deciding to follow her true passion – black theatre. And from those early days of the Black Theatre Company, Rhoda established herself and moved forward into broadcasting, first at Radio Redfern before landing her own national current affairs program First in Line, followed by Vox Populi on SBS Television. Rhoda is a member of the Bundjalung Nation, Wiyebal Clan of Northern NSW and South East QLD.
