Being a city girl I believe it is essential to get out bush, reconnect with country and experience the true essence of what it is be Aboriginal, and for me that is sharing stories, songs, language and culture.

Festivals are among the best times and places to reconnect and soon I will get to experience a cultural exchange like no other. I am heading to this years Garma Festival. The Garma Festival is a chance to come together and celebrate Yolgnu culture, share knowledge and discover and appreciate the contribution of Aboriginal Australia. The Theme for this year’s festival is Indigenous Education and Training and for the first time the Garma Festival has formed a Media Partnership with NITV.

For me this means I get to travel to a place I have only dreamt of going to - Arnhem Land. While there I will work with the community to produce digital content and on air coverage for NITV.

It is integral for NITV to have a presence at this culturally significant event and share with our audience the stories we are gathering from the Garma Festival.
