Just when you think this year’s Rugby League action is all over red rover - our brothers and sisters will be keeping the steeden nutri-grain ball rolling on with the upcoming 38th Annual NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival on this October long weekend.
What’s even more deadly is that NITV will be providing full coverage over the weekend not only to air on your favorite channel, but we will be streaming footage of the carnival live on our website for any of our mob who are unable to make the trip up to the sunny coast. So, make sure the only WWW site you visit over the long weekend is NITV.ORG.AU! If you are making the trip to Tweed Heads to see your home team run the field, catch up with family and friends or like me, going up for all of the above PLUS a good look (what else would a single sister go to a four-day football carnival for?), then you will find the NITV crews running up the sidelines, sitting in the hot seat commentating, getting interactive with the crowds and yes, asking you or you and maybe YOU to have a quick yarn on camera about your time at the knockout or taking your photograph so you can be stlyin’ on our online gallery. Will the Wollumbin Warriors come through and defend their title again this year? Will the Redfern All Blacks make up for last year’s grand final loss by working their way to a finals spot on the Warriors home ground OR will another team – maybe YOUR team - carve up on brother Ned Byrne or cousin Walter Peates soil and be the NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival 2008 champions? Log on to our website this weekend to find out! This year has seen some exciting Indigenous Rugby League and I will be placing my bets on our 6-foot-plus tall, dark and ever so handsome brother Inglis and his team the Melbourne Storm to claim victory on Grand Final day and will be supporting my Bundjalung teams close to home Northern United, Cabbage Tree Island and Wollumbin this weekend. So, stay tuned to what’s on the black box for the weekends results, action and most definitely all the yarns - see you there! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
